{premiership round-up)
Birmingham pulled off a great home victory against higher opposition, thanks to Dwight Yorke’s brilliant 58th minute goal,
Arsenal were also reduced too 10-men after new-boy Motta was sent off,
And despite Arsenal’s attempted fight back – victory was sealed in the 90th minute with an own-goal from Eboue.
Birmingham Vs Arsenal 2~0
Bolton got off to a flying start inside 2 minutes when Djorkaeff fired home to put the home side in front,
But it wasn’t long before veteran striker Teddy Sheringham levelled the score after just 17 minutes,
The 2nd half saw West Ham reduced to 10-men with the dismissal of Prosinecki – but it was a well-deserved point for both sides in a fairly even game.
Bolton Wanderers Vs West Ham Utd 1~1
Chelsea made easy work of Southampton as an eager Home crowd watched the superstars maul the struggling Saints,
Gallas opened the score on 31mins – pouncing from defence to head home a great set piece, chances opened up as Chelsea began to dominate,
But they had to wait until the 70th minute for their 2nd – substitute Lopez crashed home the 2nd to make it 2-0,
Lampard was on key to make it 3-0 on the 90th minute – but Southampton grabbed something from the game 2mins later as Crouch sneaked a goal,
3-1 didn’t really reflect the overall game but Chelsea won’t be too worried about a 90th minute consolation.
Chelsea Vs Southampton 3~1
QPR made themselves unbeaten in 3 games after a great win over fellow strugglers Leicester,
A 3-2 win put QPR 6pts clear of the relegation zone, which will please their fans,
Oli got them started on 15mins as Walshe added a 2nd on 26mins,
Leicester came back in the 2nd half through Jamie Scowcroft (56mins)
And Andy Impey looked to have saved a point on 72mins,
And then somehow QPR found the bite to get a 3rd when it looked as if Leicester would snatch all the points – Loan signing Earnshaw nabbed a sneaky goal on 89mins to stun Leicester fans.
Q.P.R. Vs Leicester City 3~2
Newcastle somehow let this one slip – Andy Johnson scored right before half-time to put the Toon Army 1-0 up,
He then added a 2nd on 56mins to put Newcastle in the driving seat,
But Man City didn’t want to give up and a great Long Ball dropped nicely too Serginho who slotted home a wonderful goal (64mins)
And then deep into injury-time Joey Barton slipped past the Newcastle defence to snatch a point in the dying seconds.
Newcastle Vs Manchester City 2~2
Liverpool & Portsmouth couldn’t muster up much of a display in a dismal display,
Liverpool just couldn’t seem to find the biting edge in a game they were probably expected to win,
Morientes even had the Gaul to miss a penalty, which eventually proved costly to the Reds.
Liverpool Vs Portsmouth 0~0
10-man Blackburn continued their good form with a great win against a clueless Tottenham side,
A 44th minute own-goal put Rovers in front, and then Stephen Reid grabbed a goal on 60 minutes to seal the victory.
Blackburn Vs Tottenham 2~0
Man Utd made it unbeaten in 8 games – despite falling behind when Middlesboro netted first through Hasselbaink (31mins)
Roy Keane got one back for United (38mins)
And Van-Nistelrooy’s penalty on 44mins put them in front,
Zenden levelled for Boro (61mins) But it was Alan Smith whole stole the show with his superb 85th minute winner.
